Jones Road Pinot Noir

With Halliday's 94 points this wine has a lot to offer. Characterised as 'fragrant then firm; flavoursome then fine', the bouquet shows plenty of fine pinot character and complexity with spicy forest berry, rhubarb, red cherry, cocoa powder and a handsome layer of fine-grained savoury French oak woven throughout, while the palate is supple, lithe and even, with layered, grippy tannins holding more of those red cherry flavours,  and supporting an acidity that gives the wine great dimension and elegance. This is a real food style of pinot, that's more savoury than fruity, and will come into its own with a slow-cooked lamb, or those smoky sweet flavours encapsulated in a barbecue.
