This Alkoomi sauvignon blanc from Frankland River in WA has a bit more depth and texture than most sauvignon blancs, due to the slight treatment of oak. With subtle aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit, and cut grass, accompanied by hints of spice and vanilla, the palate shows long and persistent flavours of citrus and tropical fruits. Herbaceous notes with subtle layers of vanilla and dried herbs are filled out by a creamy textural mid-palate interwoven with bright refreshing acidity. Try this with a pasta primavera, or softshell crabs sautéed with a lemon-caper sauce.
