This Babich Estate is a classic Marlborough sauvignon blanc, and is consistently produced in that fuller, riper, softer style. Your glass will be full of those tropical fruit aromas from gooseberries, to passionfruit, to kiwi fruit all with lifted lantana and a hint of grapefruit. The palate is medium bodied with structured acidity carrying flavours of blackcurrant, pineapple, grapefruit, with a bit of green pepper and just a hint of minerality. Flesh, with a zesty finish, this wine will go well with a dozen freshly shucked oysters with just a squeeze of lime juice, or a mild Asian dish.
