This Lindeman's bin 40 is an attractive merlot displaying varietal aromas of cassis, liquorice, ripe plum, and blackberry, as well as anise and soft black pepper, with an underlying vanillin oak. The palate is soft and elegant, of medium body, with mouth filling flavours of fresh red fruit, an essence of fennel, and a minerally quality that leads to a silky finish. Touches of spice, vanilla, and chocolate-like notes meld with those delicious red berry flavours, whilst oak maturation adds a creamy, almost nutty complexity.
