This cool climate chardonnay from Wynns of Coonawarra on The Limestone Coast in South Australia shows excellent varietal characters of nectarine, poached pear, and cashew nut flavours balanced with a soft natural acidity. The underlying nutty barrel ferment characters highlight the gentle creamy palate and add texture to the mouthfeel, while the soft stone fruit and citrus flavours are reined in by the delicate acid to give a lively, balanced and lingering finish. Try this wine with those mildly spiced Asian dishes, or a shrimp scampi, with all that garlic butter!
