Heathcote wines tend to be more meaty or savoury than a wine from say The Barossa, but the level of fruit is still quite abundant. The 2018 Under & Over Heathcote shiraz has that element of meatiness whilst still presenting an elegant palate of blackberry fruits and fine-grained slatey, skeletal tannins adding wonderful grip and length. With aromas of bright red fruits such as plums or cherries, this wine has the tannic structure to stand up to lightly spiced Asian dishes.
